Angela Eastman, JD, LLM, MCM from Pacific Apex Law Group will be serving as a judge in the Federal Bar Association's Moot Court competition on March 10th as part of the FBA's mid-year meeting and leadership conference.
Several aspects of the competition make it one of the premier moot court competitions in the country: Historically, every round of the competition is held at a courthouse, as opposed to a law school or office setting. The opportunity for law students to present oral arguments in actual courtrooms is an invaluable experience. While the 2021 competition will not meet in person this year, all rounds will be hosted via Zoom – a widely used online meeting platform by courts and the profession at large. Second, all of the individuals who serve as judges in the competition are actual judges, practitioners, or scholars. This too reinforces the “real world” experience for competitors. Finally, as an added bonus, each participant in the competition receives a free one-year law student membership in the Federal Bar Association.
Angela's involvement as a judge in this competition exemplifies her passion for serving others and engaging in their professional development.
